Taken in Las Vegas, NV, Fremont East District |
But he was talkative, the moment got away and I didn't think of the questions again until long after I had left him.
When I went back to talk to him the following day he was nowhere to be found. At least in my limited radius. I do have his email, though, and I sent him this picture with an inquiry. Perhaps he'll get back to me.
In the meantime I hope he's safe. ->

I know Alan. He is originally from California, Modesto area. His father is an Optometrist in Ceres CA. Alan is very passive and never carries a gun. He has been homeless off and on over the years. He did tell me he was beaten and robbed years ago. Very easy going California guy. One of the coolest nicest guys I've ever met.
found him on the street in very poor condition. took home. shaved him, cut his hair and let him shower. fed him. gave him clean clothing. he was obviously suffering from alcoholism. later in evening he passed out and I had to call ambulance. he seemed nice but not long for this world. i hope he gets the help he needs. i'm poor myself and couldn't do more for him.
This guy approached me in Salt Lake City. He said he had just moved there and had just moved to Provo (South of SLC) but was stranded temporarily due to a seizure fit. He explained that he had epilepsy as a result of a violent confrontation in Las Vegas which, judging from the previous comments, could very well have been due to being a victim of a robbery. At the time he was trying to get to Murray (a suburb of SLC) to re-fill his seizure medication. He seemed very genuine, and genuinely in need of assistance. I ended up explaining the public transportation system of Salt Lake and gave him train fare. If you happen to run into him, he seems very nice and genuinely trying to stay out of trouble. Help him if you can.
I went to Turlock High School (in California, not far from Modesto) with Alan. One of my favorite people from HS--smart, funny, cool, passionate, good musician. Overall great spirit. He was a year ahead of me. I have tried to get a hold of him but I have not been able to. I had no idea he was in this situation. This is heartbreaking.

I knew Alan throughout college at UNLV. He was one of my best friends. Alan was one of the smartest people I knew. He graduated in 3 years but unfortunately he had been dealing with alcoholism since he was 15. I tried helping him multiple times but he just couldn’t kick it. I often think about Alan even though it’s been almost 20 years since I last spoke to him. I hope to connect with Alan again one day.
All the stories that are written above are true. I wish Alan the best.
Alan, If you ever make it back to San Diego (the last place I saw you) please contact me! My family and I moved to the San Diego area this year(2017).

Hello. Please read my post below. Did Alan say why he was in SLC? Do you think that he may still be there?
