I Still Don't Get It

Not entirely true. Literally as I cut and pasted it I got the concept of what they're trying to represent. So I've figured out three of them.  Top left, bottom left, third on the right. OH! I just figured out second left too, so I have half.

Hello kitty

Do you realize how long Hello Kitty has been around (1976)?  Did you know the character was originally introduced in Japan and has since become one of the most recognizable fiction characters in the world?  She has stores devoted to her.  Online sites devoted to her. She's become so ubiquitous that one guy devoted a blog to her (which you can now find on my blogroll, because the concept is brilliant.)

I'm pretty ambivalent towards Hello Kitty, but I suspect I would feel quite differently if Little Missy ever became enamored with her and my house was inundated with her image.  Thankfully, I've been spared (*looking for wood upon which to knock*) ->

Because this is what we all need.  Cute, dated stuffed animals. ->

The Claw

Words cannot express my loathing for these types of games.  A dollar a pop (at the very least) and those stupid tongs grab nothing by design.

There you are, standing in front of it with either a doe-eyed toddler or a date and she's expecting a rhino.  Sponge Bob would do, but he's passe and a rhino would really be much better.  So you plug in $5, $10, $20 to that infernal machine because failure under these circumstances is simply not an option.  And what do you get for all your troubles?  Either an empty pocket coupled with a bruised ego or a stuffed toy that's worth $1.32.

Quite simply, those gizmos are akin to gambling.  And I don't gamble unless I can get served "free" booze in conjunction with my action. ->
